Russia Warns Canada Over Ukraine Drone Partnership, Escalating Diplomatic Tensions

Relations between Canada and Russia have taken another turn for the worse after Moscow issued a sharp warning to Ottawa over a new Canada–Ukraine defence partnership involving drone production.

The warning followed the signing of an agreement between a Canadian drone manufacturer and a Ukrainian defence company to jointly produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for Ukraine’s defence efforts against Russia’s ongoing invasion. The partnership is intended to boost Ukraine’s domestic defence manufacturing and improve its access to advanced drone technology.

Why Russia Issued the Warning
