CRAFTARA Festival 2026 Set to Showcase Africa’s Rich Culture, Creativity and Innovation in Accra

Ghana is preparing to host one of its biggest celebrations of African creativity and cultural heritage as the CRAFTARA Festival 2026 takes centre stage in Accra from August 20 to August 30, 2026.
The 10-day international festival will bring together talented artisans, fashion designers, visual artists, performers, chefs, technology innovators, entrepreneurs and cultural practitioners from across Africa and the diaspora to celebrate the continent’s creativity, innovation and cultural diversity.
Organizers say the festival is designed to promote African craftsmanship, empower young creatives, encourage cultural exchange and create business opportunities for exhibitors while positioning Ghana as a leading destination for cultural tourism.
A Celebration of African Excellence
Visitors can expect a vibrant programme featuring handmade crafts, contemporary and traditional art exhibitions, fashion showcases, local cuisine, youth-led technology innovations, live musical performances and immersive cultural experiences.
The event aims to attract tourists, collectors, schools, families, investors and lovers of African arts and culture from around the world.
According to the organizers, CRAFTARA Festival will provide a platform for emerging and established creatives to showcase their talents while fostering collaboration between artists, entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders.
Landmark Partnership with National Commission on Culture
A major milestone ahead of the festival was achieved on July 29, 2026, when the CRAFTARA Festival Organization signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ghana’s National Commission on Culture (NCC).
The agreement, signed on behalf of the Commission by its Executive Director, Comrade Wakefield Wisdom Ackuaku, seeks to strengthen collaboration in promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage, youth empowerment, innovation and the creative economy.
Organizers describe the partnership as a significant step toward enhancing the country’s cultural sector while creating new opportunities for artists and creative entrepreneurs.
