A child who was among pupils injured in the Dzorwulu–Accra Mall road accident has died while receiving medical care at the Police Hospital in Accra.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed the death, expressing condolences to the family of the deceased child.
The accident occurred on Thursday, July 30, when a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus transporting about 11 lower primary school pupils collided with a loaded tipper truck along the busy Dzorwulu–Accra Mall stretch.
Preliminary reports indicate that the tipper truck crashed into the rear section of the school bus, leaving several children injured.
The victims, aged between three and ten years, were reportedly travelling from Ashaiman to Accra when the incident happened.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The incident has renewed concerns about child transportation safety and the need for stricter enforcement of road safety regulations involving school vehicles.
Road safety advocates have consistently called for improved monitoring of commercial vehicles, driver discipline and emergency preparedness to reduce avoidable tragedies on Ghana’s roads.
