Ghana High Commission to Bring Passport and Biometric Services to Surrey, British Columbia

Ghanaians living in British Columbia will have the opportunity to complete their passport biometric registration without travelling to Ottawa, as the Ghana High Commission in Canada prepares to hold a special mobile consular service in Surrey on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The outreach is aimed at making essential passport services more accessible to members of the Ghanaian community in Western Canada. 
The one-day exercise will allow eligible applicants who have already completed their online passport applications to have their biometric details captured by officials from the High Commission. The initiative forms part of the mission’s ongoing efforts to decentralize consular services and reduce the burden of long-distance travel for Ghanaian citizens residing outside Ontario. 
Who is eligible?
According to the public notice, the service is specifically for Ghanaians in British Columbia who have completed the online passport application process and submitted their application package to the Ghana High Commission in Ottawa before the stated deadline. Applications sent to the Consulate-General in Toronto will not be processed under this exercise. 
Officials are encouraging applicants to ensure all supporting documents have been mailed to the High Commission in Ottawa no later than September 8, 2026, to allow sufficient time for verification before the biometric session.
No walk-in applications
The High Commission has emphasized that there will be no paper passport applications accepted at the venue. Only applicants who have already completed the online process and met the submission requirements will be attended to during the Surrey outreach. This means residents who have not begun their applications must first complete the digital application before becoming eligible for future mobile consular exercises. 
Date, venue and time
The biometric registration exercise will take place at the Church of Pentecost, located at 5814 176A Street, Surrey, British Columbia, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Services will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with applicants expected to arrive within the scheduled hours to complete the process.
