President John Dramani Mahama has commenced a two-day working visit to Ghana’s Northern Region as part of his nationwide #ResettingGhana initiative aimed at strengthening citizen engagement and governance.

The tour is designed to bring government closer to the people, offering residents the opportunity to directly interact with the President, raise concerns, and assess ongoing policy implementation.

As part of the visit, President Mahama is expected to undertake a series of key activities, including the sod-cutting ceremony for new 24-hour market projects intended to boost local commerce and economic activity.

He will also inspect a number of ongoing development projects across the region, as the government seeks to monitor progress and ensure effective delivery of infrastructure and social interventions.

A major highlight of the tour will be a town hall meeting at the University of Development Studies, where government officials are expected to engage with citizens on key national issues.

During the session, residents will have the opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and receive direct responses from policymakers, in what officials describe as a move to deepen transparency and accountability.

The #ResettingGhana initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to rebuild trust, improve governance, and accelerate development through inclusive dialogue and community participation.

Officials say the Northern Region tour marks the beginning of a series of engagements that will be rolled out across the country in the coming months.

The visit is expected to generate feedback that will inform policy adjustments and strengthen government responsiveness to the needs of citizens.
