Since the development of vaccines to combat the Covid-19 pandemic last year, there have been, unfortunately, some conspiracy theories to discredit the efficacy of such vaccines  the worst of them being that Covid-19 vaccines contain Satan’s microchips.

Also, the misinformation circulating about the safety of taking the vaccines has been overwhelming and alarming to our community. There has been rumors of instant collapse and dying to deformity and infertility among people who have been taking the vaccine. The Ghanaian News have found such rumors to be unfounded.

There are rather numerous benefits for taking any of the vaccines developed and approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) to stop the spread of Covid-19.

The fight against Covid-19 has seen vaccine development move at record speed, with more than 170 different vaccines in trials. However, the authorized vaccines in Canada include Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca and Janssen.

Since Covid-19 spreads from person to person through droplets aerosols created when an infected person coughs, sneezes, sings, shouts, or talks when one doesn’t wear a face mask and/or a reasonable distance of 6 feet from each other, the Public Health department has recommended the wearing of face masks and keeping a distance of 6 feet in public places as safety protocols. However, Covid-19 infected persons can get seriously ill and even die, especially the old people and frontline workers The vaccines are the best means to prevent and fight such dangers for the following reasons.
