PWHL Hamilton has continued its ambitious preparations for its inaugural season by signing star forward Alina Müller and standout defender Nicole Gosling to three-year contracts as part of the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s expansion process.

The signings represent a major boost for the league’s newest Ontario franchise as it assembles a competitive roster ahead of the 2026–27 campaign. Both players arrive with impressive credentials and are expected to play key roles in Hamilton’s quest to make an immediate impact in the rapidly growing women’s professional hockey league.

Müller, a four-time Olympian from Switzerland, joins Hamilton after spending her professional career with the Boston Fleet. Selected third overall in the inaugural PWHL Draft in 2023, she became the first non-North American player ever drafted into the league and quickly established herself as one of its most dynamic offensive talents. Over three seasons with Boston, Müller recorded 56 career points, including 16 goals and 40 assists, making her one of the most productive international players in league history.

The 28-year-old has also enjoyed tremendous success on the international stage. She played a key role in Switzerland’s Olympic campaigns and earned global recognition for scoring crucial goals that helped her country secure Olympic bronze medals. Her combination of speed, creativity, and playmaking ability is expected to make her one of the cornerstone players of Hamilton’s inaugural roster.

Joining Müller in Hamilton is Canadian defender Nicole Gosling, one of the brightest young stars in women’s hockey. Gosling arrives from the Montréal Victoire after an outstanding rookie season that saw her emerge as one of the league’s top defenders and a finalist for Rookie of the Year honours.

The 24-year-old recorded 19 points during the 2025–26 season, including three goals and sixteen assists, while helping Montréal capture its first Walter Cup championship. Her strong two-way play, puck-moving ability, and defensive reliability made her one of the most impressive first-year players in the league.

For Gosling, the move to Hamilton also brings her closer to home. A native of London, Ontario, she now has the opportunity to continue her professional career in front of family, friends, and local supporters while helping establish one of the PWHL’s newest franchises.

The additions of Müller and Gosling come as Hamilton aggressively builds its roster through the PWHL’s expansion player distribution process. The club has already secured several notable signings, including veteran forward Brianne Jenner and goaltender Kayle Osborne, signaling its intention to compete immediately when the new season begins.

League officials introduced the expansion process to allow new franchises to acquire established talent while maintaining competitive balance across the PWHL. Hamilton is one of four expansion teams joining the league as women’s professional hockey continues to experience rapid growth across North America.

With Müller bringing elite international experience and Gosling providing youthful defensive strength, Hamilton’s roster is beginning to take shape as one of the most intriguing teams entering the league’s next chapter.

As anticipation builds for the 2026–27 season, fans in Hamilton will be hoping these high-profile additions help lay the foundation for a successful debut campaign and establish the city as a new powerhouse in professional women’s hockey.
