Police officer arrested for transporting narcotic drugs
Ghanaian police officer, Lotsu Agbeko has been arrested yesterday in possession of narcotics drugs suspected to be marijuana.
In the development, the police officer was apprehended at hours of yesterday upon a tipped off that, 45638 G/Sgt Lotsu Agbeko aged 36 stationed at FPU, Tesano Accra, who was on duty with his own Blue Black Toyota Corolla S with registration number GC 1069 – 09 allegedly carried narcotic drugs suspected to Indian hemp.
Reports indicate that the police officer in question was transporting the alleged Indian hemp from Have in the Volta Region direction but rudely failed to stop at the Have police barrier when signaled by personnel on duty to check and enquire from him what exactly was in the car.
The officer attempted to escape but the police on duty gave him a hot chase and on reaching a section of the road on Kpeve mountain, he was unfortunately involved in an accident and had a fracture on his left hand.
Upon thoroughly searching the car, the police retrieved suspected 84 parcels of compressed dried “Wee” found in his car boot.
However, the suspected police officer has been rushed to the Peki Government Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
The police administration has assured the public that its stables will follow the case closely and investigate to unravel the situation so as to punish the culprit to serve as a deterrent to other officers.
