IGP promotes 2 officers for arresting colleague cop smuggling Marijuana
The Police administration has given promotions to two cops for their good yielding role in effecting the arrest of their colleague officer who was allegedly captured while smuggling substances suspected to be marijuana.
The two cops who have been promoted by the Police administration are Inspector Azumah Komla Justice and No. 52543 G/L/CpL Felix Diameh.
The police officer, now a suspect was apprehended at hours of Monday upon a tipped off that, he was using his own Blue Black Toyota Corolla S with registration number GC 1069 – 09 to transport narcotic drugs suspected of Indian hemp from Hohoe area towards Accra.
Suspect Agbeko upon reaching the Have Police checkpoint rudely failed to stop when signaled by personnel on duty to check and enquire from him what exactly was in the car.
The officer attempted to escape but the police on duty gave him a hot chase and on reaching a section of the road on Kpeve mountain, he was unfortunately involved in an accident and had a fracture on his left hand.
A copy of a press release issued by the Police and signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Chief Superindent Grace Ansah-Akrofi commended the two officers for their “patriotism, vigilance and dedication to duty”
