Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei delivered another assured and composed performance as Granada secured a narrow but crucial 1–0 victory over Cultural Leonesa, strengthening their push for promotion.
Naasei started the match at right-back and played the full 90 minutes, showing maturity beyond his years in a tightly contested encounter. His performance stood out not only for his defensive discipline but also for his tactical flexibility, as he was shifted into central defence in the second half to help manage the game.
The 21-year-old adapted seamlessly to the change, helping Granada maintain their slim advantage under increasing pressure from the opposition. His calmness on the ball, positioning, and reading of the game were key factors in keeping Cultural Leonesa at bay during the closing stages.
Naasei was among the most reliable performers on the pitch, finishing the match with a solid 6.9 rating, with only three players in the starting lineup earning higher marks.
This latest display continues a strong season for the Ghanaian defender, who has now made 33 appearances in Spain’s Segunda División. Since joining Granada in 2023, Naasei has steadily grown in confidence and importance within the squad, earning consistent trust from the technical team.
Granada’s hard-fought victory keeps them firmly in the promotion race, with the team maintaining pressure on rivals as the season enters its decisive phase.
Naasei’s growing influence has not gone unnoticed, with his consistency and versatility strengthening his reputation as one of the promising Ghanaian defenders currently developing in European football.
