KESSBEN GROUP FOUNDER KWABENA KESSE DIES AT 68

Ghana’s business and media community is mourning the death of businessman and founder of the Kessben Group of Companies, Stephen Kwabena Boateng, popularly known as Kwabena Kesse.

Mr Kesse reportedly died after an illness at the age of 68.

Born on September 12, 1957, and raised at North Suntreso in Kumasi, Kwabena Kesse built a diversified business empire with interests spanning transportation, education, hospitality, finance, media and other sectors.

His Kessben Group became an umbrella for several businesses, including Kessben Travel and Tours, Kessben Driving School, Kessben Computer School, Kessben Shipping and Forwarding, Fosua Hotel and Conference Centre, Kessben University College, Kessben Consult and the Kessben Foundation.

He also owned Kessben FM Limited, the company under which his media interests, including Kessben FM, Kessben TV and Aseda TV, were registered.

Mr Kesse also held majority shares in Multi Credit Savings and Loans Limited.

Beyond his commercial activities, he was involved in philanthropy and public service.

He served on Ghana’s National Peace Council from 2004 to 2010, contributing to efforts aimed at promoting peace and national cohesion.

His death marks the end of more than three decades of involvement in Ghana’s business and media sectors.

Funeral arrangements for the late businessman are yet to be announced.
