The Soccer Ministry Outreach, made up of Toronto, Hamilton, and Heritage Ghanaian Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Churches, in collaboration with the Personal Ministry of the church, held their annual community track and field events in celebration of Canada Day.
The aim of this year’s event was to use the opportunity to propagate the gospel of Christ to individuals in the community.
Elder Randy Dei, the first Elder of Heritage Ghanaian SDA Church, said that since it is difficult to meet people in their homes because of their busy schedules with the aim of evangelizing to them, the group decided to re-strategize and use these games instead.

Elder Dei stressed the need for Christians to win souls for Christ and advised non-Christians to seek God for salvation since the end is near.
Bismark Paa Kofi, the representative of Attwell SDA Church who also serves as the coach for the Attwell soccer team, said these games have helped the church convert new souls over the years.

He urged Christians to continue showing love, care, and kindness to non-believers to be able to win them over.
Individuals and groups, young and old, representing the churches participated in games such as 100 meters, 4×100 meters, egg on a spoon race, sack race, and soccer. Winners in other disciplines were presented with medals, while the soccer match winner was presented with medals and a trophy.
The Attwell SDA Church won the soccer match by beating Heritage Ghanaian SDA Church by two goals to nil.
