PNC politics: Janet Nabila is destroying our Party, she must stay away – Bashiru issues first warning

The North East Regional Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), T. K. Bashiru, has accused the current General Secretary of the party, Janet Asana Nabila, as the major cause of disunity and acrimony in the party. He has therefore cautioned her to stay away and allow for unity to reign so the PNC can move forward.

Bashiru who is a three-times Parliamentary candidate for the PNC in the Chereponi Constituency and also contested the national vice chair position at the last national congress of the party in 2020 made these comments in a statement to the media on Thursday.

He blamed the “suspended” General Secretary Janet Asana Nabila for turning the PNC into her personal property and refusing to allow other people to contribute their quota to building and developing it.

“The PNC has been a registered party since 1992, and henceforth we are not going to entertain such disrespect and mismanagement of the Party,” he stated.

He said “as a senior member of the party and on behalf of the North East Regional branch, we are warning the suspended general secretary to stay off affairs of the party until the issues of disunity is completely resolved.”

According to him, his press statement has become necessary and is in response to the elections road map discussed in an alleged zoom meeting called to map out dates for the party’s elections across the 16 Regions.

Bashiru insist the regional chairmen of the party are not aware of the so called PNC Election Road Map.
