Over 600 Additional Ghanaians Register for South Africa Evacuation Exercise

Government efforts to assist Ghanaian nationals in South Africa have expanded, with hundreds more individuals registering for evacuation support through Ghana’s diplomatic mission.

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa disclosed that an additional 600 Ghanaians have enrolled with the country’s High Commission in South Africa as authorities continue coordinating assistance efforts.

The Minister reaffirmed government’s commitment to protecting citizens abroad.

“When the safety and dignity of Ghanaians are at stake, the Government of Ghana does not compromise or dither.”

He also commended affected nationals for their resilience during the situation.

“I am immensely proud of the resilient spirit of Ghanaians.”

Officials are expected to continue arrangements aimed at facilitating the safe return of registered citizens.
