National Paralympic Committee to hold elections on October 4

The National Paralympic Committee has announced October 4, 2024, as the date for their Elective Congress.

This decision received unanimous approval from its members during an event called the “Extraordinary General Assembly,” which took place at the Airport West Hotel in Accra on April 21, 2024.

Among the resolutions passed was the establishment of an annual affiliation fee of One Thousand Ghana Cedis, intended to support the committee in its management endeavours.

Furthermore, discussions encompassed various crucial matters, including the approval of Annual Membership Fees and the recognition of new Para Sports and their respective Federations/Associations.

These sports include Adaptive Boxing, Boccia Sports, Para Biathlon, Wheelchair Rugby, Para Archery, and Wheelchair Softball. Additionally, amendments to Article 2 Membership: Sections 1 to 5 were deliberated.

Sampson Deen, elected President of NPC

In a prior General Assembly held on July 6, 2019, Samson Deen was elected President of NPC-Ghana, alongside seven other officers: Mr. Frederick Otu as Vice President, Mr. Peter Adjei as Secretary General, Mr. Evans Yeboah as Treasurer, Mr. Twum Barimah, Ibrahim Saani, Philip Otuo, and Henry Larbi as members.
