Kevin Hart and Katt Williams have officially ended their long-running public feud in a dramatic and emotional moment during Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The reconciliation happened live before a packed audience during the 2026 Netflix Is A Joke Festival, where Katt Williams appeared as a surprise guest roaster despite years of public tension between the two comedians.

The feud between Hart and Williams had lasted for years and became one of the most talked-about rivalries in American comedy. Their disagreements involved accusations about industry favoritism, movie opportunities, comedy success, and public criticism exchanged through interviews and social media.

During the roast, Katt Williams initially continued the tradition of attacking Hart with jokes and criticism, mocking his career, fame, and industry relationships. The audience reacted loudly as Williams delivered several sharp punchlines directed at Hart’s success and Hollywood connections.

However, the atmosphere changed dramatically after Williams completed his set. Kevin Hart addressed the tension directly in front of the audience and publicly extended what he described as an “olive branch of peace.”

Hart told the crowd that despite their years of conflict, he remained a genuine fan of Williams and wanted to move beyond the rivalry. He stated that the moment presented an opportunity for both comedians to finally end the beef publicly.

The emotional turning point came when Williams walked toward Hart on stage and the two comedians shook hands before embracing in a hug, triggering loud applause from the audience inside the arena.

The moment quickly spread across social media, with fans and entertainment commentators describing it as one of the biggest highlights of the Netflix roast special.

Reports indicate that the feud between the comedians stretches back nearly a decade, with tensions becoming more public around 2016 and 2017 after Williams criticized Hart’s rapid rise in Hollywood and accused the entertainment industry of heavily promoting him.

Their conflict resurfaced multiple times over the years through interviews, comedy performances, and online exchanges, often dividing fans over who was right.

Despite the reconciliation, both comedians still maintained the roast atmosphere by continuing playful jokes during parts of the show. Hart later jokingly responded to Williams’ old claims that he had stolen movie opportunities from him.

The Netflix roast featured appearances from several major celebrities and entertainers, including Tom Brady, Dwayne Johnson, Pete Davidson, Tiffany Haddish, and Usher.

Entertainment analysts say the public reconciliation could mark a major turning point in comedy culture, especially considering how long and personal the rivalry had become.

Fans online have largely welcomed the development, with many praising both comedians for choosing reconciliation over continued public conflict.

The roast special has since become one of Netflix’s most discussed entertainment events of the week, with clips of the reconciliation continuing to trend across social media platforms.
