The streets of Accra’s Airport City came alive on Saturday as hundreds of athletes gathered for the 5th edition of the Ultimate Biathlon Bike Run Challenge, a thrilling test of strength, speed and endurance.
The event, held at Silver Star Tower under the theme “Strong Mind. Strong Body. Strong Athlete,” brought together professional athletes, fitness lovers, corporate teams and cycling clubs for one of Ghana’s biggest urban endurance competitions.
Participants faced a challenging 25-kilometre race, starting with a 20-kilometre bicycle ride through Airport City before completing a 5-kilometre road run to the finish line.
The competition pushed athletes beyond physical strength, requiring discipline, smart pacing and mental toughness to complete both stages successfully.
Organised by Silver Star Tower Limited, the event received support from partners including Run Ghana and INEOS Grenadier, highlighting the growing partnership between businesses and Ghana’s fitness community.
For organisers, the Ultimate Biathlon is more than just a race. It is part of a bigger mission to encourage healthier lifestyles and promote sports participation among Ghanaians.
Over the years, the event has grown from a community fitness initiative into a major endurance platform attracting athletes from different backgrounds.
Corporate Ghana has also embraced the movement, with more companies encouraging workers to take part in sporting activities that promote teamwork, wellness and healthy living.
For first-time participants and experienced competitors alike, crossing the finish line represented a personal victory—a reminder that endurance is built through commitment and determination.
As Ghana’s fitness culture continues to expand, the Ultimate Biathlon Bike Run Challenge is positioning itself as one of the country’s leading events promoting strength, resilience and community.
The message from Airport City was clear: a stronger body begins with a stronger mind.
