The 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) ended in spectacular fashion at the Grand Arena in Accra, bringing together musicians, celebrities, producers, fans, and entertainment stakeholders for one of Ghana’s biggest nights in music.

The awards ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements in Ghana’s music industry over the past year, with several artistes receiving honours across categories including Highlife, Gospel, Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Reggae/Dancehall, and music production.

The night featured energetic live performances, emotional acceptance speeches, fashion showcases, and intense anticipation surrounding the major award categories.

One of the most competitive categories of the night remained the coveted Artiste of the Year award, which featured strong competition among some of Ghana’s biggest names in music.

The ceremony also highlighted the growing global influence of Ghanaian music as artistes continue to gain international recognition through streaming platforms, collaborations, and performances beyond Africa.

Industry observers say the TGMA continues to play a major role in shaping Ghana’s entertainment industry by recognising talent, promoting competition, and increasing the visibility of local music internationally.

The awards additionally reflected the strong rise of younger artistes and the continued dominance of digital streaming in determining popularity and commercial success within the Ghanaian music space.

For many fans, the 2026 edition of the TGMA represented another important moment in the evolution of Ghana’s music industry as local artistes continue competing not only within Ghana but also on continental and global stages.
