29Roots Launches Third Edition of Brick-by-Brick Skilled Trades Program to Empower Youth and Newcomers in Construction Training
Toronto ON- 29Roots Youth Employment Services is excited to announce the launch of its third Brick-by-Brick Skilled Trades Program, designed to equip individuals with practical construction skills and new employment opportunities. This initiative is ideal for both employed and unemployed individuals who are 16 years of age or older and are looking to either acquire new skills or enhance their existing expertise in the skilled trades sector.
The program welcomes Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents, Temporary Workers, Work Permit Holders, Refugee Claimants, Visitor Visa Holders, and Asylum Seekers. Participants must have completed at least Grade 10 Math and English to be eligible. With a strong focus on hands-on learning and career development, the program offers a variety of benefits including employment research supports, construction presentation training, apprenticeship mentoring, certificate of completion, and resume development.

Registration for the Brick-by-Brick Skilled Trades Program runs from April 23 to May 9, 2025. An information and orientation session is scheduled for May 15, 2025, and the program will officially run from May 19 to June 27, 2025.
This important initiative is supported by the York University, African Canadian Alliance Center (ACAC), Skills for Change, and the Carpenters’ Union (CMA) in commitment to building a skilled and inclusive workforce.
