Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club assistant coach, David Ocloo, says his side gave too much to respect to ASEC Mimosas as he spoke on Kotoko’s 2-1 loss to the Ivorian side.
Kotoko lost to ASEC in this year’s President’s Cup played out at the Baba Yara Stadium with Kotoko conceding two goals in the first half.
In the post-game interview, Ocloo lamented this issue that put his team in a tough position to recover from and score the win.
“It’s like we gave them a whole lot of respect in the first half and they capitalized to get two early goals. During recess, we went back, the boys were fantastic, they played very well. I liked the intensity, they run more and they created a whole lot but today is one of the days we couldn’t get the needed results.”
Losing to ASEC marks an up-and-down start to life in 2024 with The Porcupine Warriors losing to Kpando Heart of Lions and beating Bibiani Gold Stars in the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
