President John Dramani Mahama has officially opened the 2026 Ghana–European Union Partnership Dialogue, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to strengthening trade, investment and strategic cooperation with the European Union.
The dialogue brought together government officials and EU representatives to assess existing partnerships and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
Government officials highlighted Ghana’s progress under several partnership agreements with the European Union and outlined efforts to improve national project coordination through a comprehensive monitoring framework covering all sixteen regions.
The administration also reiterated its policy emphasis on promoting trade, expanding value addition to locally produced goods and strengthening health sovereignty under the Accra Reset Agenda.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Mahama has now become the first Ghanaian President to officially open the annual Ghana–EU Partnership Dialogue on two separate occasions.

The meeting reflects Ghana’s continued effort to strengthen international partnerships while pursuing greater economic transformation through trade, investment and industrial development. Analysts say future discussions are likely to focus on expanding commercial opportunities and sustainable development initiatives
