The Ghana Police Service has arrested nine suspects in connection with a deadly armed robbery targeting a mobile money vendor at Fiapre-Zongo in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region, in an operation authorities describe as a significant breakthrough in the investigation.
The robbery, which has shocked residents and renewed concerns about the safety of mobile money operators across Ghana, resulted in the theft of GH¢30,000 and claimed the lives of two people. Several others sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

According to preliminary police investigations, the armed robbers stormed the mobile money business at Fiapre-Zongo, where they reportedly attacked the operator before making away with approximately GH¢30,000 in cash.
During the robbery, gunshots were fired, creating panic among residents and passers-by as people fled for safety.
The attack turned deadly when Ibrahim Osei, a civilian, was fatally shot. Police also discovered the body of an unidentified man near the scene under circumstances that investigators are still working to establish.
