Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has explained why he is not interested in joining popular Nigerian content creator Peller for a livestream.
The Grammy-winning musician addressed the issue during an Instagram Live session after a fan asked whether he would consider going live with Peller.
Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, appeared to dismiss the possibility, describing Peller as a young person who talks too much.
According to the musician, Peller is only 20 years old, and his personality and approach are not the kind he typically associates with.
Burna Boy also revealed that Peller has attempted to reach him through Instagram on several occasions, but he has deliberately chosen not to respond to the messages.
“I do not typically associate with individuals like that. He has reached out to me on numerous occasions. I have seen all of his direct messages on Instagram, but I have not responded,” Burna Boy said.
The comments have drawn attention because Peller has built a significant following in Nigeria through his energetic online content, interviews and livestreams involving celebrities.
Peller has increasingly become known for seeking interactions with prominent Nigerian and African entertainers, making collaborations and livestreams with major stars an important part of his online presence.
However, Burna Boy’s latest remarks suggest that he currently has no interest in participating in such a collaboration with the young content creator.
The singer’s comments also highlight the differing approaches of established music stars and a younger generation of digital content creators who have increasingly used social media livestreams as a way of connecting celebrities directly with audiences.
For now, it remains unclear whether Peller will respond publicly to Burna Boy’s remarks or whether the two will eventually resolve their differences and collaborate in the future.
