Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton isn’t sure about the availability of midfielder Mohammed Kudus for the Stars’ crucial game against Egypt.
The big matchup takes place on Thursday, January 18 at 20:00 GMT at the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire with both teams needing a win after disappointing in their opening games.
Ghana lost 1-2 to Cape Verde while Egypt drew 2-2 with Mozambique but Ghana played against Cape Verde without influential West Ham midfielder Kudus.
A knee injury prevented Kudus from joining the team early in Ghana’s pre-AFCON training camp but has been spotted training with the team since the team arrived in Cote D’Ivoire.
However, Kudus’ situation remains clear and Hughton confirmed it with his statement during his pre-game presser.
“We will continue to assess Mohammed Kudus. He has trained the last few days. We will assess today and tomorrow and make a decision tomorrow (Thursday).”
Ghana is in search of a win to boost its chances of progressing to the round of 16 stage.
