Ghana’s gospel music fraternity is in mourning following the passing of celebrated gospel singer Bernice Offei, one of the country’s most influential female gospel musicians whose music inspired worshippers for more than three decades. 
The news of her death has triggered an outpouring of grief from fellow gospel artistes, church leaders and fans across Ghana and the Ghanaian diaspora, many of whom have described her as a voice of hope, faith and encouragement.
Bernice Offei was widely admired for her rich vocals and deeply inspirational songwriting, becoming a household name through timeless gospel classics including “Hold On,” “Life Is Short,” “Me Ko So,” and “It’s By Grace.” Her songs remain staples in churches and Christian gatherings across Ghana.
