A tragic building collapse at Adenta New Site in the Greater Accra Region has claimed one life, while emergency responders continue efforts to rescue two individuals believed to be trapped beneath the debris.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night and prompted a swift response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and other emergency agencies. Witnesses reported that residents initially joined rescue efforts before official responders arrived at the scene.
Authorities have so far recovered one body from the rubble. Rescue operations remain ongoing as teams work to locate and extract the remaining trapped victims.
Officials have not yet established the cause of the collapse. Investigations are expected to commence after rescue operations are concluded.
The incident attracted large crowds of residents and concerned onlookers as emergency workers continued efforts to account for all occupants believed to have been inside the structure when it collapsed.
