The 2026 edition of the GomoaFestival, hosted by Gomoa Central Member of Parliament Kwame A Plus, has emerged as one of the most vibrant and well-attended community-driven events in Ghana’s Central Region, drawing thousands of patrons over the weekend.
Held in Gomoa, the festival combined music, culture, and grassroots engagement, transforming the area into a hub of entertainment and economic activity. The event continues to grow in scale each year, with this year’s edition widely regarded by attendees as the biggest so far.
From early hours of the day, crowds began gathering at the venue, with anticipation building around the lineup of top-tier Ghanaian artists billed to perform. By nightfall, the atmosphere had evolved into a full-scale concert experience, complete with stage lighting, sound production, and security presence comparable to major urban events.
Among the biggest highlights of the festival were performances by Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, and Medikal, who each took turns thrilling the massive audience.
Shatta Wale delivered a high-energy performance that sent the crowd into a frenzy, performing a string of his hit songs and engaging directly with fans. His presence alone drew a significant number of attendees, reinforcing his influence in Ghana’s live music scene.
Sarkodie brought a different dynamic to the stage, commanding attention with his lyrical delivery and stage control. His performance was marked by strong crowd participation, with fans reciting lyrics and responding enthusiastically throughout his set.
Medikal added youthful energy to the event, connecting with fans through his popular tracks and maintaining the momentum of the night’s performances.
In addition to the headline acts, several emerging artists and local performers were given the opportunity to showcase their talent, highlighting the festival’s role in nurturing upcoming creatives within the region.
Beyond entertainment, the Ameen Gomoa Festival served as a powerful platform for community development and economic stimulation. Local vendors, food sellers, and small-scale businesses reported increased sales, as the influx of visitors created a temporary boost in economic activity.
Residents of the area also expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such events not only provide entertainment but also bring visibility to the Gomoa enclave, which is often overlooked in national event planning.
Organizers emphasized that the festival is designed to bridge the gap between leadership and the grassroots. As host, Kwame A Plus has positioned the event as a way of engaging directly with constituents, particularly the youth, through a medium that resonates with them.
Security arrangements were visibly strengthened, with personnel deployed to manage crowds and ensure order throughout the event. The coordination of performances, crowd control, and logistics was largely smooth, contributing to the overall success of the program.
The festival also incorporated elements of cultural identity, with local participation and traditional influences subtly woven into the event, reinforcing a sense of belonging and pride among attendees.
As Ghana’s entertainment landscape continues to expand beyond major cities, events like the Ameen Gomoa Festival are increasingly becoming important cultural anchors—bringing together music, leadership, and community in a shared space.
With the success of the 2026 edition, expectations are already high for future installments, as the festival continues its trajectory toward becoming a nationally recognized event on Ghana’s entertainment calendar.
