June 8th 2020: Ghanalinx Media Group, a multifaceted media enterprise based in Toronto Canada organized a historic virtual fundraiser concert to raise money online to support covid-19 relief efforts in the Greater Toronto Area.
The virtual concert was organized with the aim to raise funds for the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario (GCAO), to support their ongoing COVID-19 relief efforts in the community. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the GCAO has been distributing hand sanitizers, face makes, gloves, food and other supplies to vulnerable people in our community, including seniors, PSWs, nurses, and people who might not have the necessary financial resources to purchase these items during this pandemic.
The concert opened up with a prayer and words of encouragement from Pastor Obie Agyeman. This followed by a brief remarks from the president of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario, Mr Emmanual Duodu. The host for the night was Miss Tatiana King (Radio and TV Presenter) and music was provided by DJ King Bizzy. The history concert featured various Ghanaian Canadian talents including Felix Baffour, Daisy Agyemang, Kwame Vista, Zakisha, GhCALI, Bugatti Bonsu, Salamatu, Kofi Mante, Bellaa Tee, Slimflex.
“I wanted to create a platform where our local Ghanaian Canadian talents will get to showcase their talents during these uncertain times while also contributing to the community by helping raise funds online” Says the Organizer Mr Gabriel Odartei from Ghanalinx Media Group.
The virtual fundraising concert raised $2000 which was donated to the executives of the GCAO. The presentation was done by the artists and organizers of the virtual concert.
